Academic Integrity Agreement

By participating in this course, I agree to uphold Navarro College’s Academic Integrity Policy, which prohibits:

“All forms of academic misconduct including but not limited to cheating, fabrication, plagiarism, or facilitating academic dishonesty.”

Academic misconduct is defined as “any act that does or could improperly distort student grades or other student academic records.”

Cheating

Fraud, deceit, or dishonesty in any academic assignment. This includes using or attempting to use unauthorized materials, information, or devices—or helping others to do so.

Plagiarism

Using another person’s words, ideas, processes, or results without giving proper credit. This includes:

  • Copying language or structure without citation

  • Presenting another’s work as your own (explicitly or implicitly)

Facilitating Academic Dishonesty

Helping another student violate academic integrity, such as:

  • Taking an exam for someone else

  • Giving another student coursework to submit as their own

  • Assisting others in using unauthorized resources

Unauthorized Collaboration

Working with others on assignments, exams, or online coursework (Canvas, MindTap, etc.) without explicit instructor permission.

Retaliation

Taking action of any kind against a person who, in good faith, reports or provides information about suspected misconduct.

No AI Allowed

Students must complete all work independently without the assistance of AI or writing tools. The following are not permitted in this course:

  • ChatGPT, Bard, or any other AI text-generation tools

  • Grammarly, QuillBot, or similar editing/rephrasing software

  • Thesaurus/auto-rewrite programs

All submitted work must be your own original writing. Violations will result in a zero for the assignment and may include further disciplinary action under the Academic Integrity Policy.

By continuing in this course, I confirm that I understand and agree to follow these rules.
