THE SIZE OF THE SOLAR SYSTEM

In this laboratory activity, you will investigate the concepts of relative size and distances of the planets by determining how you might to go about building a scale model of the solar system on the main campus of Navarro College in Corsicana, TX.

In the first part of the lab, you will determine just how big you are going to build each planet model so that they are all a representative size when compared to each other. 

In the second part of the lab, you will determine just how far apart you are going to place each planet model on the campus.  You will need to review the map below to answer the final questions in the lab.
